Book Review: Doodletopia Fairies

doodletopia has put out quite a few “get started drawing” and “you can draw it yourself” type books over the years. Some of the animation and cartoon self instruction books have been very well done and very helpful. Unfortunately, the string of useful books has a broken link and that link is their newest title called doodletopia Fairies by Christopher Hart. While the formula of instruction is somewhat similar to earlier books in the series, this one comes across as incomplete and cliche. Each finished product is a big disappointment and doesn’t feel like a worthwhile use of time or effort. While I wanted to like this one, I can honestly only give it 3 stars.

Book Review: Red Blooded American Male

In his newest collection titled Red-Blooded American Male, Photographer Robert Trachtenberg takes viewers on a one of a kind celebrity safari with many photos exploring the feminine side of (North) American masculinity. Or possibly vice versa? Either way, this collection is a wildly entertaining and often humorous look at some of America’s most well known personalities looking just a little bit vulnerable and slightly out of character.
