Book Review: Far Afield Rare Food Encounters

One part photography, one part recipes, Far Afield: Rare Food Encounters From Around The World by Shane Mitchell feels a lot like flipping through National Geographic while cooking dinner.

Beautiful photos from every continent, along with stories and recollections about the pictures, complement the forty or so recipes included in these pages. The photos of food, set in the correct culinary context, provide an extra layer of appreciation that many exotic cookbooks seem to be lacking.

Rich in culture and containing a little bit of everything from a little bit of everywhere, this big book of tasty treats and unusual suggestions is one you will want to make room for on your living room book shelf or coffee table.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
