Book Review: Natural Color By Sasha Duerr

Natural Color: Vibrant Plant Dye Projects For Your Home And Wardrobe by Sasha Duerr continues the trend of wonderful new niche books being published on the topic of getting back to basics and self sustainability. What says independence from commercialism and corporate overload more than dying your own textiles and fabrics with plant dyes that are healthier and prettier than the fabric filled with toxic chemicals you purchase from the store? Not much and this book is a perfect place to start for anyone interested in the topic.

While plant dying appears to be a daunting task on the surface, Duerr breaks down each aspect and simplifies the processes in a way that inspires the reader to give it a shot and see what they can come up with. Everything from extracting the color to preparing the fabric is covered in detail. This is one “how to” book that I will be proud to not only use but also display for guests to enjoy. 5 Stars.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
