Book Review: The Naked Cookbook

The first thing I noted upon receiving The Naked Cookbook by Tess Ward in the mail was the heavily recycled compressed board cover did not hold up well. Despite being packed tight and secure the book had dings and scuffs all over it. By the time I had finished reading it the condition had further deteriorated.

Fortunately, the content of this book holds up much better than the cover so the old saying don’t judge a book by its cover has special meaning here. With The Naked Cookbook, the author focuses on food in its most “naked” form. As the author explains, eating healthy naked food is the diet to end all diets.

Readers should take care not to confuse naked with raw or vegan because there are many recipes in these pages with fish, beef and chicken. Naked simply means eating food in its purist form. The dishes are diverse and the pictures look delicious. I have not tried any of the recipes yet but you can bet I will soon.

Hopefully the cover problem is fixed in future printings.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
