Book Review: Art Students League Of New York On Painting

James L. Mcelhinney and the Instructors of The Art Students League of New York present this incredible window (294 pages) into their prolific artistic community with On Painting.

For those unfamiliar with The Art Students League of New York, they were founded in 1875 and have an extremely rich history of working with many art legends including Pollock and O’Keefe. Today thousands of students study there each month.

While this book is filled with illustrations, it is much broader than just a large collection of beautiful and unique paintings. It includes lessons, advice, philosophies and interviews with instructors.

Artists and appreciators of art will want a copy of this book in their collection.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
